Brief Introduction

Dr. Lilly Mathew is appointed as an Associate Professor of Nursing Informatics with tenure at the CUNY School of Professional Studies, where she coordinates the Masters in Nursing Informatics (MSNI) Program and teaches graduate and undergraduate courses related to Nursing Informatics and Advanced Statistics. She also serves as a faculty advisor to graduate students in the Nursing Informatics track and oversees Nursing Informatics practicum clinical projects. Additionally, she is also appointed as a CUNY Institutional Review Board (IRB) member since 2018 and served as a faculty member at the CUNY graduate center PhD Nursing Program. Currently, she is actively engaged in clinical research serving as a Nurse Scientist (Per Diem) at Northwell Health since 2015. She has numerous peer-reviewed publications and presentations in the field of nursing science focusing on improving the care of vulnerable populations, transcultural nursing, and the use of innovative technologies in improving nursing care and patient outcomes. Dr. Mathew is board-certified in Nursing Informatics & Nursing Professional Development with a  26-plus years of demonstrated experience working in the healthcare industry and higher education. She has served as an elected board member of the Transcultural Nursing Society Northeast chapter. She currently serves as an editorial board member for the SAGE Open Nursing journal and a peer-reviewer for the Journal of Transcultural Nursing, Journal of Patient Experience, Journal of Psychosocial Nursing & Mental Health Services, and European Journal of Information Systems. She has earned her Ph.D. in Nursing from the University of Arizona, Master of Science in Nursing Education from Saint Joseph’s College of Maine, and Bachelor of Science in Nursing from SNDT Women’s University, Mumbai, India, and is also inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society.
